GSL-1700X-VT-UL is UL/CSA ready to pass furnace with an optional 80 mm diameter alumina processing tube. This high-temperature vertical tube furnace is using MoSi 2 as heating elements. It is designed for the heat treatment of all types of new materials under vacuum or other gas conditions up to 1700 o C. The temperature of the GSL-1700X-VT tubing furnace is controlled by a high-precision SCR power controller with accuracy +/-1 o C and 30 segments programmable up to 1700 o C (3092 o F). Vacuum Sealing Flanges One pair sealing flange with double silicone high-temperature O-ring is included. Two SS needle valves and one dial vacuum gauge are installed with flange for immediate use. Warning MoSi2 heating element is used in high temperatures under an oxidizing atmosphere. During the oxidizing process, the SiO2 protective film is formed again the heating elementfrom melting during sustained use. The MoSi2 heating element must not be used in the temperature between 400 o C and 700 o C for a long time, otherwise, the element will be cremated under the strong oxidizing atmosphere at low temperatures. The tube furnaces with alumina tube are designed for use under vacuum and low pressure < 0.02 Mpa Never use graphite crucible in the alumina tube. Attention: A two-stage pressure regulator must be installed on the gas cylinder to limit the pressure to below 3 PSI for safe operation. Click here to learn the installation of a gas regulator. Never heat the furnace while the gas release valve is closed and a positive pressure condition exists within the furnace chamber. The pressure gauge must be used to closely monitor the chamber condition at all times during the heating process; please open the gas release valve immediately once the chamber pressure has reached over 3 PSI to prevent unforeseeable damages. The flow rate for gasses should be limited to < 200 SCCM ( or 200ml/min ) Vacuum pressures may only be safely used up to 1500°C for the alumina tube.
