KSL1100XST is a compact hybrid furnace that offers a 4"x4"x4" heating chamber with a 2" hole on the top with a programmable temperature controller. It is an ideal furnace for preparing small samples up to 1000 o C either under a vacuum or a controlled atmosphere with maximum energy saving (500 - 700W only). In addition, this compact furnace can be placed into a glove box to sinter samples. Hybrid Furnace Muffle Furnace: A thermal block is included for using this furnace as a muffle furnace. Tube Furnace: The 2" port on top of the furnace allows the furnace to work as a tube furnace for high vacuum applications. Compatible with tubes with lengths ranging from 215 to 265mm. Sintered Mullite Plate One sintered Mullite plate is included for placing the sample in the chamber. Application Notes With the smallfootprint, low weight, and low power requirement can be easily accommodated in a glove box and threat samples under protective gases. For high vacuum application ( <1e-5 torr), please choose a quartz tube with CF flange as in picture 3 Pic.1 Pic.2 Pic. 3 Warnings Toxic or explosive gases are not recommended for use with this furnace without necessary safety controls and supervision. Please put the furnace into the fume hood for better safety (Click Pic.1) Small cracks may appear on the surface of the refractory ceramics over extended use. This is a normal occurrence and the cracks may be repaired with alumina coating.
