Micrometer Head

• One micrometer head is a built-in travel rod of the coater to adjust the gap between slot die and substrate
• A digital micrometer head is available as an option at an extra cost

• It is recommended to operate the coater under a fume hood. 
• May need a vacuum mixer to remove air bubbles inside slurry to make uniform coatings 
• You may need a Slurry Viscosity Tester to make coatings consistent

• Coating thickness is not dependent on or equal to the gap between the slot die head and substrate. 
• Usually, the gap shall be larger than the coating thickness. Coated thickness is strongly dependent on slurry viscosity, coating speed, and flow speed. ( Lower viscosity, low flow rate, and low speed will result in a thinner film Please practice finding the best parameters which suitable for you
• Example 5% carbon+ polymer, viscosity: 500mPa·s, substrate: Al foil of 16 um,
• Gap: 200 um, Slurry feeding rate:: 0.1 ml/minute , Coating speed: 12mm/s
• Coated film thickness: 10 um +/- 2 um
