DIE05DGP4S is a split graphite die set for OTF-1200X-VHP4 and OTF-1700X-RHP4 and other heated pressing furnaces. It is used for the hot uniaxial press for ceramics, powder metallurgy at an elevated temperature of up to 1700 ºC and 100 MPa. The split design is for sample retrieval in an ease. Die-05D -GP-4S Die does NOT come with the Tantalum Thermocouple Sheath for thermocouple protection. Steps to make sample pellet

  • Mixing and grinding chemical powder by agate mortar or Ball Mill
  • Put powder into the die
  • Pressing sample by a pressing machine under suitable pressure
  • Heat the graphite die to the desired temperature
  • Cool the graphite die gradually.
  • Take out the pellet
